All Natural Home Remedies for Cold and Flu Season

I feel like this cold and flu season is just dragging on. My family and I have had some form of sickness creep up what feels like every other week so I’ve been trying to implement more natural remedies to alleviate our symptoms and boost our immune systems. As I sit here and write this while pushing through yet another episode of sickness, I want to share a few simple home remedies that I am currently testing out to get my body restored as quickly as possible. The best thing about these remedies is that most use the same ingredients you likely already have in your home.

This combo has a triple-threat effect with its anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting, and digestive-supporting agents. So when you're starting to feel like you are coming down with something try this out to give your body a super boost.

Ingredients: lemon, ginger, filtered water (I also like to add cayenne, turmeric, and honey).

This is something that I threw together hoping to sneak in some good immune-boosting ingredients for my kids. I can’t think of anything better to a kid than a popsicle when they aren’t feeling well, so why not make one packed with immune-boosting benefits?

Ingredients: Fresh whole pineapple cut into cubes, 1 peeled orange, 1 peeled lemon, 1 cup of frozen strawberries, 1 cup of organic plain yogurt, one clove of peeled, chopped ginger, 1 tbsp of organic honey, and 1 cup of apple juice

Directions: combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth and well combined, then transfer to popsicle molds.
