Valentine’s Edit: A Guide of What to Wear, What to Do & What to Gift

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching; if you are like me, you have no plans in place! Let’s be honest: although V-day is on the same day every year, it always seems to sneak up on us. I can only assume it is because we’ve all spent January recovering from back-to-back holiday celebrations. Well, this year, I decided to do some research and create a Valentine’s Day guide with style inspiration, activity ideas for both adults and kids and gift ideas so we all can feel more prepared and less overwhelmed.

What to Wear: Outfit Inspo

Am I the only one who thinks about what to wear for Valentine’s Day at the last minute? For me, planning and gifting are my top priorities, so when it comes to finding something to wear, it’s always left for last. Well, not this year. I’ve learned from the past that solidifying a look is just as important as the other aspect of Valentine’s Day. If I want to feel good and enjoy myself, I need to plan what will make me feel my best ahead of time. So, I got right to it and created a V-Day mood board for style inspiration! A bit cliche with all of the red and pink elements, but I find it to be so nostalgic, playful, and feminine, especially for someone who doesn’t typically reach for these colors.

What to Do: Activities For Adults

Time with my hunni is my most cherished time, so of course, I want to make Valentine’s Day that much more special. We live in Minnesota and typically deal with cold V-Day weather, but there are still some fun ways to celebrate with your significant other.

What to Do: Activities For Kids

One of my fav things about Valentine’s Day is doing fun activities with my little ones, but it is so hard not to overthink what you can do that is new and exciting. Here’s the thing: my kids just truly want to spend time creating with me. It never matters how much the activity costs or how “cool” it is, as long as we are doing it together, they are happy. So here are a few super simple activity kits you can do with your kids that will make the day feel extra special without having to overthink!

What to Give: Gifts Ideas for All

Gifting for Valentine’s Day can be tricky, but I made a simple guide of gift ideas for any and everyone! For my kiddos, I like to keep it super simple with a few fun treats, some type of game we can play as a family, and a stuffy. When it comes to gifts for my husband, I love to fill a basket with all of his favorite treats, gift him something he needs, and gift him something he wants. I also believe that handmade gifts are the sweetest, most thoughtful ideas, don’t feel like you have to go out and buy gifts to make the day special!
