Dressing the Bump: Spring Style Inspo

I am sure this is no surprise, and many of you expecting mommas can relate when I say that the first trimester was challenging when dressing the bump. I've always popped early with all of my pregnancies, which has left me in an awkward in-between place of not being able to fit my regular clothing but also not ready for maternity wear. On top of that, I felt terrible ALL OF THE TIME, so leggings, oversized tees, and sweatshirts were on rotation constantly.

Now that I am almost through my 2nd trimester, my energy is restored, and I am feeling more inspired to get dressed again, especially with the Spring season upon us. I am excited to challenge myself with dressing my bump and creating fun looks outside of my daily uniform of leggings and sweats.

So, I took to Pinterest and began gathering all of the bump-style inspo!

My main goals when dressing the bump are:

+ Choosing items that are adjustable so I can wear them for as long as possible, even postpartum.

+Seleting fun prints and patterns that can be mixed and matched with other items.

+Sticking to pieces that are realistic and wearable for my growing belly

Here are a few examples of what I will be implementing within my wardrobe this Spring.

If you are currently expecting and desire to look and feel your best this season but don’t know where to start, I want to encourage you to spend some time gathering inspiration via Pinterest or other style resources. You can also take some time to go through your closet and restyle pieces that you already have. I just feel so deeply that we need to prioritize making sure that as we are going through all of the pregnancy motions, we are also intentionally embracing all of the changes and feeling our very best. Most days, for me, that truly does look like a cute athleisure outfit, it’s my go-to even when I am not pregnant. But other days, that may look like me pulling up my saved Pinterest board and recreating one of those looks. Whatever that looks like for you, make sure you are doing it, because this time is meant to be enjoyed in fullness.
